EUROCITIES statement on an urban agenda for the EU

The Pact of Amsterdam establishing an urban agenda for the EU is a good starting point. It provides a new framework for working on urban issues with cities in the EU. The urban agenda recognises the role of cities in tackling some of Europe's most pressing socioeconomic challenges, while respecting the principle of subsidiarity.
